WoW players -- what do you think of 3.3? |
|
I am enjoying the Dungeon Finder quite a bit.
The new heroics are intense for a healer, though!

1. Yeah, my healers are saying the same thing. |

My healer asked me to slow down so he could drink for the first time since ... UBRS, I think. I think the new trash mobs are pretty caster heavy, so they're a bit tougher to tank. They do more damage too since most of us tanks are built to mitigate the physical. We decided to go back to some old crowd control rules and sheep/shackle/sap/hex whenever we could and things went a bit smoother.
We've noticed that mobs are trying to get behind the tank now, which is mildly annoying but hasn't killed us yet. Tanks will take more damage when attacked from behind. Less threat on targets behind the tank too, depending on the class.
Haven't been into the raid yet, just the new heroics. Can't wait, though, it sounds pretty intense.

2. It seems a little easier now that people are getting used to what they have to do. |

HoR was rough for the first few days. I've a fairly decently geared resto Shaman, and this is the first time in a long time that I've had to worry about mana in a Heroic.

It's great to manage them and it's free (there is a paid version as well, but it's unnecessary, imo.)
As for the add-ons I find indispensible?
PowerAuras is a phenomenal tool for letting you know visually when your special talents proc. It's somewhat clunky to customize, but very worthwhile. It's my single favorite add-on.
If you heal, HealBot has come a long, long way and is very helpful, and lots of people swear by VuhDo. Decursive is recommended for just about any class that can do any kind of debuff cleanup.
Recount is very, very helpful in figuring out how to improve your DPS.
Bagnon is a great bag replacement tool.
Postal is great, especially if you have a bank alt that you frequently send things to.
Bartender is a very good actionbar mod, and allows for quick placement of actionbars and easier key bindings.
Omen is the threat meter of choice - don't go into a dungeon without it.
As for a quest helping suite, I find Carbonite to be great. Small footprint, easy to use. You'll have to get that one at carboniteaddon.com though.

I run my mods pretty lean. Been using Skada for a damage/threat meter combination and it works well. We use Deadly Boss Mods for raiding. My bank guy uses Auctioneer - it's indispensable if you want to make money at the auction house. That's pretty much it.

5. I am freaking loving 3.3 |
|
The new dungeon finder is awesome for someone like me that plays at off hours and for not very long in one sitting. Mainly, I play for about 1.5 hours before work each morning. I would have never even conceived of being able to put together a group at that time. With the new cross-server LFG - I can bang out two heroics before leaving (in a related story, I have a tanking toon and a healing toon, so my queue times are nearly immediate).
The new 5 mans are also pretty rockin. As a tank, some of those pulls are friggin chaos - 5 mobs, 2 of them healers, spread way the hell out. It sucks as a paladin - I can't imagine how hard that is for a warrior or bear (as usual, DK tanks can kiss my ass). Lots of fun though, and great gear.
