You actually have to swing like you're swinging a golf club, although somehow my epic real-life slice didn't make it into the game. If you have a wireless connection, it can download real-time weather information for the course you're playing, which can be interesting in the winter (no snow, though).
No game will ever have Augusta. They are determined to not let that happen, unless they produce it themselves. It does have Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, though, and they got rid of those stupid fucking "fantasy" courses.

I hate those fantasy courses.
On edit: I can't play the Wii, as I'm disabled and can't stand for any decent period of time. So it's the PS3 for me.
