Give the Siren a corrosive SMG and she really kicks ass once the weapon skill is about level 15-18. Use her skill on approach and it will completely get rid of any shields, then when you re-appear you open up and wipe them out. Use the skill again to replenish health. as needed and to travel wicked fast.

I'm shocked that anyone thought she was under-powered as a character. Dual SMG and elemental shift thingy and she kicked ass.
