My direct SS disability deposit is late

I guess I'll have to call SS tomorrow.
Is anyone else having problems? I hate to get uptight, but if they screw up, I can be in deep shit before things get straightened out.

Not to add to Your worry, but I'm suspicious of dd, for many reasons. If YOU have the guvment-issued check in YOUR hand, You can pretty much get it cashed,at various places.
With these banks & info tech companies losing & selling personal acct info,banks freezing debit cards..Maybe I've bitten too many wooden nickles,but the whole cash-less economics wierds me out.The less the corporations & the guvment are in my little cash, the better I like it.

4. No debit card

After I got out of the hospital 3 years ago, my credit is so screwed up the bank won't even give me a debit card. I have to write checks. The only reason that works is that all the long time local businesses trust me. I've thought about shopping for another bank, but I just get so damned tired of nitshit that I avoid the whole damned mess.

13. debit card

www.accountnow.com will give you a debit card that is used
just like a  bank card and there is no credit check or
chexsystems. You can have your checks deposited and get money
off the card. It can really be a blessing to those of us who
have had problems with banks. The card will carry the VISA
logo. Hope this helps

5. Did you recieve and fill out the yearly form you have to sign??

My son moved and didnt get the form and assumed it had been deposited and he wrote checks for 3 months before the bank let him know and the va didnt pay for those 3 months so he got in debt and also had to pay 50 dollars for each bad check.
It took me months to get it straightened out and he went without 3 months checks.It was a nightmare

7. Never had to do that

I had to wait 7 months for the first check. I don't have any VA benefits, all SS.
Funny thing, when I got out of the hospital I closed my bank account, no sense in being charged a monthly fee on an empty account. When I applied for disability, I asked to have a check sent to the house. After 7 months, they started coming, after 4 months, they stopped. Then, my ex sister in law, who was working at the bank came by, she told me that the bank was returning my checks to SS because of a wrong acct. number. I called SS and told them that I never asked for direct deposit, and had told them that the account was closed. They told me that I had signed a form for direct deposit. I didn't, but figured that if I argued they could really mess me up. I would love to see the form they say I signed, but the last thing you want to do is piss them off.

6. wow I don't usually get mine

before the 2nd or 3rd. The only time I get it on the 1st is if the 1st is on a Friday.

It got credited just a while ago. I know I should not worry, but I run so close to the edge anyway that I don't need problems. I have trouble sleeping, any damned stupid thing makes it impossible.:toast: Now, I can hit the sack.

9. I'm always amazed that people actually get SS disability checks

I keep hearing horror stories about it taking years to get approved, and getting denied for stupid or unknown reasons. I only know one friend who got approved in less than 2 years. I have an aunt who still hasn't been approved and she hasn't been able to work in 6 years.

I'm still working, and if all goes well I'll keep working for a few more years. But when the time comes that I can't, I don't know what I'll do.

get disability - even then I had to get an attorney. My attorney said it was because I was only 47 when I was injured (& qualified 2 receive max benefits) - I don't know what that has 2 do w/ anything, permanent & stationary is just that - I'm never gonna get the use of my left hand/arm back; I will always have rods in my back. I'm not gonna wake up 2morrow and my left hand will suddenly function.

5 years and a lawyer before I got disability.

I didn't think I'd qualify, so I didn't bother with an attorney. Lo and behold, a month later I was approved. Unbelievable.

As for the bank, I also only get my check on the first if its a Friday. If they were late in getting my check, be sure I'd be on the phone! I'm glad everything worked out, but that worries me, my bills automatically go out the day I get the check (because of due dates). I'd be paying a lot of fees for bouncing them!

and realize that unless you're a blind quadriplegic, almost everyone gets denied on the first try.

I did but I was 59 at the time and my only job for 40 years was standing on my feet all day,and involved caring for patients, carrying heavy equipment, etc.

It is possible to get approved the first time.

19. SSDI not yet arrived -- due 3rd of month -- happened last month too.

Last month I had to go into the Social Security Office and claim Dire circumstances in order to get a check "cut" on -the-spot. Now that it's happening again, I'm getting suspicious that Chase could be witholding the U.S. Treasury money for a day or tow on millions of accounts and earning lots of money at our (Seniors & Disableds) embarrassment, additional poverty, inconvenience, and money. Who should I contact this month? Last month Chase charged me $475.00 in fees since automatic bill pays were made even though the SSDI, which I depend upon for month-to-month living -- I'm now in debt up to me *%$#@. And I thought that there was a law that prohibited even state and federal courts (except for the IRS, of course) from attaching , garnishing, etc ANY part of SSDI for ANY reason (except the IRS, of course).

Will someone please tell me about any similar experiences, tell me how most quickly to get my Social Security Disability Benefits Income, and tell me how to stop this downward spiral with the bank?
