| EBay is no longer allowing the sale of teacher's editions of textbooks |
|
I don't get it - all of their TE's have been pulled.
So now on EBay, you can't buy/sell body parts or Teacher's Editions.
Is this because kids were buying them to cheat? Why ban all of them?
Very weird, but it affects homeschoolers, obviously.

the other "swap sites"... There are some on yahoo and one of the vegetarian sites has one, too. Lots of "groups" have their own sales loops, too.

| 2. I would bet it is because kids were buying them to cheat. |

When I bought the teacher's edition of my son's math book, I had to have it sent directly to a school, I couldn't receive it at home. Fortunately, I have a friend at the local school and she said I could use her name to order it.

And instructors accept them under the agreement that they will not sell them.
on edit: I speak only for college textbooks. I have never worked in el-hi.

You can try over there if you're looking to buy or sale any teacher editions.

| 6. cheating students = bogus explanation |
|
I don't think I buy the "cheating students" explanation. How many k-12 students are using their credit cards to purchse TE textbooks on ebay?
I can see college students doing it, but how many college texts have a TE? Not many that I know of, but maybe I'm wrong. I have TA'd for a couple of college courses and we were on essentially our own.
