| Good news in restaurant findings.... |
|
Here's a new one I found last night for the Pages and added in.
If you want to eat out, here is a good one:
Consolidated Restaurant Operating are blue. Gene Street has been in the industry in Dallas for many years. When I did searches on him and the 3 other main members of the group, they all gave to Dems except for one guy, who I could find no donations for.
So here are their restaurants: El Chico, III Forks, Cantina Laredo, Good Eats, Cool River Cafe, Spaghetti Warehouse, Chevy's Fresh Mex, Casa Rosa, Lucky's, Fuzio Universal Pasta, Silver Fox
Happy guilt-free dining. FSC

As a rule I go to indie type restaurants but it will be nice to go to Chevy's guilt-free cuz there is one by the IKEA here in Burbank CA -- man I ASSUME IKEA is OK, it's a Swedish company...right? Sigh...I better look!
Anyhow the gimmick that Chevy's has is they have ths giant tortilla making machine in front....my local Mex cafe Don Cuco's has a lady sitting there making them all day by hand * pat pat pat* but I always feel kinda sorry for her, what a boring job! The mechanized ones are just as good, but in any case, once you start eating really fresh, just-made corn tortillas those packaged ones in the store become as tempting as eating cardboard.
Thanks for the info!

since I listen to KFOG from SF over the internet (before they quit airing local commericals a few years ago). Always sounded pretty yummy.
But I agree. Freshly made tortillas (corn OR flour) are delish! FSC
PS- You're welcome!

I used to go there as a child, but haven't been to one in ages. I guess I'll be visiting one again soon!

We had a work lunch at one a few years ago, but I have bad memories. Half our department had just been laid off, and I had water to drink. Plano water is disgusting, and they had no bottled or filtered, so the lunch itself sucked.
I don't remember the food being much better, but it might just have been my attitude at the time.

| 5. I've never heard of any of these! |

:-(
That's okay. I try to stick to locally owned restaurants anyway.

| 6. Mostly Texas and California. |

Sorry Lydia!
But buying local is always better anyway. Down here, it's hard to avoid chains, so you have to pick and choose.
