1. You could probably alert and request from the moderators on

threads that are still active - although I'd like to inform more DUers of our existence by bumping the thread and posting a link to here. I think you'd have to make a request in the Ask the Administrators forum for archived threads.

The other option would be to start some threads by category like the books thread, and populate them with cut and pasted posts from old threads. (see the books thread for an example http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=255x17 )
