Need input on tunes the band is doing |
|
WE haven't played out in well over a year except for a benefit we did in June and I want to crack down and get out again. These tunes are not in any particular order but it is what we are looking to finish up on and play out. We have a shitload of others but this is what I am focusing on now. Any thought on what should go or maybe what we should add. Yes, there are a ton of Beatles, LOL and I cut a lot. We do play all these now.

2. Kid Charlemagne has always been in the back of.... |

my mind and always a big fan of Little Feet. Oh Atlanta has also been on my to do list. Our acoustic group did play Willin. Anyway my problem is that we lost our lead guitar player and our other guitar player just isn't cutting it so I have had to pick up the leads. I was never a lead player but rather rhythm guitar and lead vocals so learning leads has been a challenge. Never new my fingers could move that fast. I have got Jessica down now and am almost set with Steely Dans Do it again ( crazy lead) which has given me the confidence that I can do it. LOL, as I get older my vocal range isn't what it used to be so I figure I better learn how to really play the guitar.

3. Yeah, Kid Charlemagne has a mean bass line too. |
|
It took a lot of picking up and dropping the needle for me to learn it back in the day.
I envy someone who can pull off lead vocal duties. I've only ever been able to croak out passable backup stuff.

4. Guitar had always been just a backup to my voice for me. |
|
I do play a very good rhythm guitar and I don't think about where my hands are at all because I concentrated on my vocal. The guitar I played by rote. Picking up lead is a new animal to me and I never thought I could but working on Jessica gave me the confidence I needed.
