I miss John Edwards more than ever now that Health Care Reform is falling apart. |

Despite what folks say, Health Care was never that big a deal with Obama.I don't think Edwards would have bargained away the Public Option.Elizabeth alone would not have let him do it. And I still think he would have been a real pit bull against the insurance companies. Remember, he said 'not to seat them at the table because they would eat all the food'. And here we are.

Obama latched on to Edward's health care message. I think he felt pressured by Ted Kennedy, who believed health care was the most important issue of his time, and Edwards, who made it an integral part of his presidential platform. I may get TSd for even saying this in the Edwards forum, but I think Obama adopted the issue primarily because he felt it was advantageous to his candidacy. It was a means to an end, not a personal passion and moral conviction for him.
BTW - Good to see you, saracat! :hi:

2. Ah but light is slowly dawning on many. The political |
|
expedience is becoming obvious. And the non crtical thinkers are turning themselves inside out trying to justify recent conditions.
They blame the media ,they blame Rahm, they blame everyone but the president. The buck stops at the oval office. He appointed Rahm and it is his and the Democrats job to manage the media. So far the GOP are mauling us.
I really pray Obama saves the public option and the preexisitng condition element. Without those pieces, there is no reform.
And it is wonderful to see you again too! Many of us are slowly returning.
