9. Well, you had your chance! |
|
I"m so glad today I have this group to play in, and to hug and appreciate.
Last night was rough, and I'm thinking of Rocky and our friends in Iowa... it must have been hard for them. I think most of us thought Edwards was going to pull it off!
I'm thinking of ya, smokey, and all the Edwards gang--great work, and you are VERY appreciated!

5. I used to use the ignore function a lot, but lately I find it's less effective |
|
than just driving by certain posters' homes and firebombing their sorry asses!
Ha Ha Ha -- just kidding, mods!

7. Nutmegger! Good to see you too. I wish we'd come out on top, but on the |

other hand, the fight rages on.
There are some wall-cracking stories coming out of Iowa. Giuliani's absolutely dismal performance suggests he might not be around very long for the Pukes. Ditto half-dead Fred Thompson. McCain's standing in their race is enhanced not owed to his virtues but to his opponents' flaws. Huckabee is insane and the smear campaign against him by Republicans is about to begin in earnest.
And, not least, we may be at the end of the Clinton era in American politics. Adding Obama's and Edwards' totals, 68% of Iowa caucus attendees rejected her candidacy. That's an absolutely amazing percentage. Her campaign staff, 5 days away from New Hampshire, must be screaming at each other in a hotel in Des Moines right now.

I'm very disappointed with the results. Edwards had a lot going for him, and I was sure that his organization in Iowa was going to pay off big time. But you're right. The race is far from over and until that moment arrives I'm going to totally dedicate myself for an Edwards win in New Hampshire. All this means is that we have to work a little harder.
I really don't see how Giuliani's strategy is going to pay off. He'll crash and burn! I was watching to see if Paul was going to come in third but even Thompson and McCain beat him.
When everything is said and done, it'll be interesting to pick through the results.
