I need some advice, Edwards people |
|
I am about to submit an entry to the John Edwards campaign's homemade advertisement contest, but I am second-guessing a small part of my entry. The video is a slideshow of Edwards supporters with an excerpt from one of John's speeches as the audio track. The focus of the ad is on John's challenge to the people of America to rise up and take power away from the greedy corporate interests that have taken over our democracy.
At the end of the video, I have a written message underlining this point. Right now the message says:
Stand up America
Take your country back.
I would like to know what you folks think of this wording before I submit the ad. Does this even make sense, since America is itself a country? How can a country take it's country back? Is "Stand Up" too Obama? In the speech excerpt, Edwards says both "stand up" and "rise up", so I've been see-sawing between the two. I can't decide what would be the most fitting message. Here's some other ideas. What do you think?
Stand up Americans/Take your country back
Rise Up America/Take your country back
It's up to you/Take your country back
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights.

1. How about reclaim your "voice"? Edwards is all about ret'ing |
|
power to "we the people". And we the people love him for it.
Good luck, Cowpunk, hope you win.

2. You could use both, couldn't you? Because by reclaiming our |
|
voice we say no to corporate power/greed & we take back our country. Wish I could see it. Good luck, once again.
