With all the hate going around....It is going to be hard for me to vote |
|
for anyone other than JRE (if he is not in GE), my husband already said he would not vote if JRE is not in GE. I want a Democrat, but with the supporters I see here at DU, if they are a reflection of their candidate..UGH! I am not sure who I would vote for? I don't know...maybe I am just tired....

1. I feel the same way lisa |
|
I can't imagine a repuke getting it again; that would be the death knell of any hopes for restoring democracy and fairness in this country. However, if I have to vote for either of the other two, I will be holding my nose, especially with the shenanigans I have been seeing around here!

I'm going to support John Edwards ENTHUSIASTICALLY as long as he's in the race. If he decides to drop out before my state's primary I won't vote in the primary. As far as the general election is concerned, I'll make up my mind then.

4. Can you write-in a candidate in your area? |
|
That's what I intend to do, that is, if I can vote at all. (Being homeless, they do everything they can to keep me from voting!)
I haven't written in a candidate since '72, when I wrote in Shirley Chisholm. If you remember her motto, "Unbought and unbossed", you will see the striking resemblance of writing her in and writing in Edwards. :)
Sometimes we have to stand up and do what little is available to us. Writing in Edwards may not accomplish much, but it DOES give us a voice, however small, and it DOES get a bit of attention, if enough of us do it.
BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if it comes down to this that Edwards himself will ask us not to do so. He must toe the line of the system in certain ways: even Kucinich did at the convention in '04, so I wouldn't be surprised if Edwards did, too.
BUT... that doesn't mean that we CAN'T vote our conscience--he can ask us not to, and we can respectfully decline. :) :) :) :)
That's *my* line in the sand. It's a very personal decision, and one we all must wrestle with.
HOWEVER, I'm not giving up hope yet. I still think Edwards may do a lot better than the pundunts (spelled "dunce" hehehe)spout, and what it looks like at the moment.
Here's to John: :bounce: :bounce: :toast: :bounce: :bounce!

5. I understand how you feel- |
|
I believe the important thing is to continue the work of Edwards, after the election, no matter the outcome.
(I'm still convinced it will be Edwards.)
But we can work on a local level, a state, or even national level to bring about change, peace and economic Justice for all Americans.
Keep your chin up Lisa, we can still do this.

I don't know what I'm going to do either - but, my gut tells me it's JRE on the ticket for '08, and if not, I'm writing him in!
