I'm still not sure what I'll do in the GE. I'm thinking of staying home. |
|
I watch the antics in GDP, and in other settings (my conference committee meeting yesterday that turned into an Obama lovefest, and got just creepy), and don't feel good about either of the two. Not sure I can vote for either of 'em. And I'm still pissed that the only two candidates left are corporate centrists!!
Anyone else considering sitting November out? I probably won't, it's a long way off. But if I had to vote for one of these tomorrow...

1. I am considering writing in John if it is Obama. I really can't vote for him |
|
I can make myself vote for Hillary but Obama is such a sleaze and lies about it. Ick.

4. I'll feel like that one day, and then feel differently the next. |
|
But, yeah, the more I learn about Obama, the less I like him. But Hillary's IWR vote, and her reluctance to denounce it, make me uncomfortable, too.
Writing in John seems to be the way to go.

....and I have wondered the same. I am so disgusted with both campaigns that I just wish it were all over.
I wish we had a national primary so that for once in my life I could actually vote for the person I'd like and have it count.
Side note....how are you holding up down there? No flooding I hope.

3. The Fox is over its banks, but so far it's not affecting any homes-- |
|
just the riverwalk, a city park, and a high school football field. All of those are along the river so the land isn't residential. I haven't been over near the Illinois for a few days, but will be crossing it to do nursing home visits tomorrow. So, I'll find out how high it is then. Must not be bad, or I'd have heard about it.
Are you having any flooding up there?

...but the big thaw hasn't hit Wisconsin yet, so I don't think we'll really see anything for at least a month.
I have had a lot of standing water (now ice) in my front yard after that one day thaw we had. I think that the lower areas may have a problem when it thaws...the same areas that flooded last spring.

6. There are HUGE ice floes lying along the Fox. |
|
The hospital is on the Fox, and I was visiting someone there today. We were looking out the window at all the ice pushed up onto the hospital lawn by the river. They're really beautiful, but, yeah, they'll be water looking for a place to go soon.
Have a good night! :hi:

7. Madison, Jefferson, and Paine thank you. |
|
I urge you to excercise your right to vote and stop stomping your foot that you and I and others here didn't get our first choice.
That's how things usually are in the real world.
And that's how they always are in politics.

13. I didn't stomp my feet. I stated a fact. There are no candidates |
|
who hold positions near mine. This leaves me with a problem. Sorry if you read something more into it. But my post was clear.

14. I think McCain's platform should be considered before anyone |
|
knocks the eventual Democratic ticket.
I'm into a more progressive Supreme Court, too. For me those are major considerations.
Also it wouldn't bother me one bit if John Edwards were our new Attorney General next January.

9. I've thought about staying home. |
|
But I refuse to be silenced. Out of ALL the Democratic candidates we had, the only 2 I can't vote for are the 2 remaining. I'm going to vote & I'll be writing in John Edwards. I'm also a delegate & am going to fight my way to the convention as an Edwards' delegate.
