Talladega Race Fan Sports Racist NASCAR T-shirt
Despite NASCAR's white-washing PR, one redneck fan at last month's Talladega 500 shows off what may be the new NASCAR enthusiast uniform: cheap beer in a cozy, giant Fauxkleys, and a sleeveless t-shirt proclaiming "No Niggers In NASCAR."

This shirt is a reminder that NASCAR, despite its official messaging, has a fan base that puts the white in bread — and they're happy to have it stay that way.

As Pam's House Blend put it:

"Demographic analysis found that while blacks represent only 8.6% of NASCAR's audience, it's a 12% spurt since 2005. Apparently that fact has caused consternation among some of the blue collar bigots that now have to sit in close proximity to more of "those people."
And NASCAR's own decisions seem to reflect this opinion. Darrell Wallace made history as the first African-American to win a NASCAR Pro Series in April. Where was the Danica Patrick level of media frenzy being stoked by NASCAR PR? Heck, we only heard about it weeks after the race. Why did nobody know it even happened? Likely it was out of a desire to not alienate their white fans — like this guy here. (Hat tip to TwinTurbo2!)

1. Awwww, they're breaking my heart....

:nopity:....first of all, I don't consider myself or anyone I know...that word. ...but given what's said by the rest of the article, they are apparently talking about "people of color." (i.e. specifically african americans) :eyes:

Gee fellas, you really know how to break a girl's heart. Excluding me from watching cars go really, really fast, round and round, over and over again.... Damn shame I'm not welcome to do that. :sarcasm:

Clearly the popularity of this "activity" (sorry I won't be calling it a sport, now or EVER) is based on it's overt simplicity. It's not a mystery why the population that derives such pleasure from this activity aren't interested in more complicated activities, or anything requiring analytical thought, evaluation or enjoyment of people utilizing lifetime honed skills.

They are in no danger of me (or anyone I know) organizing any protestest demanding inclusion in one of the most brain dead, backward ass, ridiculous activities I've ever dared to wonder exactly why anyone is interested. Though I get why there are several sponsorships from beer manufacturers (inebriation clearly helps). They can have it. :boring:

Apparently the old saying is true, simple people have to keep shit simple.

2. A "sport" started by a bunch of criminals

white bootleggers driving their modified cars in circles between delivery runs. Congrats to Darrell Wallace for being the 1st black driver to win a NASCAR pro series, but why? Participating in a sport where they openly and gladly shout out that they hate your guts and don't want you around makes no sense to me. NASCAR isn't exactly going out of their way to change their ways. As stated above, they were very quiet about Darrell Wallace, while they were falling all over themselves over Danica Patrick. :eyes:

In case you haven't noticed, I'm NOT a motor sports fan.

3. If no AAs had participated in sports where they "shout out they hate your guts", there would be no
black athletes at all. They hated black baseball players, basketball players, golfers...

4. Following that line...
that would apply to life outside of sports and everything else (and often still does, but that's another story), but I was limiting this to NASCAR.

5. That is also true.
The real question is, why would anyone want to participate in such a crap sport?

6. I don't even consider that crap a sport. How much skill is involved
in driving around in a circle? Any moron can get a driver's license.
