Shirley Sherrod to address black journalists
Former Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod on Thursday will address the National Association of Black Journalists, which is meeting in San Diego for its annual convention. Sherrod was forced to resign last week after an out-of-context video of remarks she made were published on a conservative web site. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack subsequently offered her another job at the agency, which she is still considering.

The discussion will focus on the reporting and coverage of the incident and "the role that race still plays in a runaway media culture," a press release from the NABJ said. The organization also said it invited Andrew Breitbart, the conservative blogger who started the controversy, to the session, but he declined.

2. About 4 eons ago, I was a member of that organization
I really need to find a way to contribute to this group again. The need for minority journalists seems to be more pressing now than ever.

"The organization also said it invited Andrew Breitbart, the conservative blogger who started the controversy, to the session, but he declined."

Big effing surprise. :eyes:
