Both my wife and I looked at each other knowing exactly what he was saying ... Or at least what we thought we heard.

But we both wished he had re-phrased it a bit to say:

"...That dream is why someone who began by sweeping the floors of his father’s Cincinnati bar can can stand behind me, presiding as Speaker of the House and that dream is why a working class kid from Scranton can serve as Vice President in the greatest nation on Earth."

After the speech, we joked if he had phrased it that way, he could've jump started the entire economy as many americans, including many here at DU, would've had to buy a new TV.
