And guess what, the black students are reporting threatening phone calls. I don't get the "we need to tread carefully with civil rights" approach. It is a horrible injustice and it SHOULD make people uncomfortable that it is going on right now, here in the "modern" age. I found myself wanting to know more about the racial climate at the school before the secretary spoke. Were there big issues before she came? Did she possibly speak in an accusatory way that upset people that were racially sympathetic? How big of a backlash was there by the white students and faculty?
It just seemed like a lot of details are missing in this story, like big chunks of what happened.
