I didn't know if I should put this in the States section but I think its more an AA question so here goes.
I got a look at the Black Commentator, a publication I know many of you hold in great contempt, and read a commentary that portrayed Cory Booker as an Uncle Tom leading the Black folks of Newark down Republican Street. Nowhere in that commentary were details of Sharpe James' cronyism or crooked dealings.
If Booker is supposed to be a tool of the right and James is Mr. Real Estate, who can the voters trust? I ask here because NJ is, imo, ripe to turn red because of its large 'entitlement' programs and the horrible reputation of the democratic party there. How does an AA evaluate a candidate under these conditions? So far I've seen all the small presses take James' side and the major outlets detailing his shenanigans. That doesn't necessarily have to mean they're 'supporting' Booker, does it? To me it only shows how loyal the smaller presses are to James.
Help me out, does anyone have a clear picture of what's really going on in the James vs Booker saga?
