1. No, it's very good and very necessary

I have to deal with the unseeing WASP males on certain topics. Usually the first thing out of their mouths is, "I'm not prejudiced, but..." and the ignorance begins. I've had to point out the flaws in the arguments and the sheer level of ignorance that they're under more than a few times, and I see brain lock set in. The eyes roll and glaze and the subject changes--and that's by even the more thinking individuals. Fighting ignorance is a constant battle.

Also there's a lot about Africa that I don't know.

Or my personal favorite of 'I don't see color' I sit down and get comfortable. I think to myself, here we go--what level of bigot am I dealing with today. Usually they are even bigger racists than they could ever concieve of.
