| So, how do the blacks that voted for * feel now? |
|
Have you guys thought about this at all? I just thought about that a few minutes ago. All of the African American churches that bushco galvanized with their talk of denying 'gay rights.' By appealing to 'Christianity' and Biblical ideals, he brought in so many groups.Black churches that told their congregations to vote for *.
My dh and I stopped attending a church looooong before the election, because one of the pastors was in the habit of putting a big stamp of approval on the bushco clan. Totally turned us both off, and we left.
I was SO disgusted earlier this year watching a little, pitiful press conference by a group of black church leaders, here in southern California. They had created some pathetic 'alliance' to stand on the side of the right wing, endorsing 'family values.' It was so dispicable to me--I recall posting to DU about it.
When I discussed this phenomena with friends, they all said, bliss--they will see. This admin. will show them just where they stand with them. Who would have known it would be at this scale or level?
I wonder where those church leaders are tonight? How do they feel? Are they still supporting their 'chosen one'? Do they still feel they cast the right vote--after watching abandoned African Americans, dying on rooftops?

| 2. Among that group...the ministers in NOLA |
|
I wonder how many of the African American ministers in NOLA who embraced Bush's faith-based anti-gay policies, what they think of him now? Do they feel deserted..
To paraphrase a song...
Ain't no use in going home... Georgie's got your vote and gone...
