Taken from the February 2006 issue of VIBE magazine:
"People need to start rocking George Bush T-Shirts like Al Pacino shirts," Natalie Stewart exclaims. "He's just as gangster." Most African-American voters identify with the Democratic party. But the Floacist has love for George W. Bush. According to Stewart, the President rules because of his high-profile minority appoiments. "I've never seen the Democrats place a black man and a black woman in such high positions as Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell. America has never had that."
And these women make good music too. :wtf:

I love their new CD, but damn! Does she follow the news? Did she see the aftermath of Katrina, the 2% support for Bush from blacks, and the War in Iraq??
What the hell was she thinking?!

but not in a cool way, imo. Ah well, to each her own, I guess, and I'm fighting back a twinge of regret for gifting that CD this holiday season because we don't all have to think alike. Beyonce is also a republican and I do wonder if it's in line with her ideology, her ove for Texas or just more of her careful attendance to her reputation and scrupulous avoidance of scandal (witness what happened to the Dixie Chicks). The impact of this presiden't terms may not have impacted these artists as it has mere mortals, especially since they'll never serve in the military and will be beneficiaries of the tax cuts.

think the same or even vote the same--but I honestly don't get people that vote against the interest of the common good.
As far as Beyonce is concerned, I get the sense she votes that way based on her 'christian values' AND her love of Texas AND her reputation. Sure, she's entitled, but I think that's your point. She lives a very different life and may be one of the ones that benefits from those lovely shrub tax benefits for the wealthy.
So she certainly doesn't NEED a dime of any of our money, does she? ;)

They obviously don't get that Rice and Powell's appointments were calculated and for a reason. Who else is he going to trot out when he's accused of his obvious racism? Who else is going to take the heat for him when he's off hiding somewhere? The minority members of staff, that's who! Not unlike the slave owners of the civil war era as far as I'm concerned
...they are merely there to do the dirty work and fulfill the GOP quota. :grr:
