I recently learned that MTV has a show, a contest of sorts, where kids play "the dozens"--primarily utilizing "yo mama" insults (they say jokes :eyes:). I think the show is called, "yo mama." I was channel surfing one day and saw it on my guide. I wasn't sure what it was, so I turned to it and saw teens/young adults of many races and ethnicities tossing "yo mama" slurs at each other, while the crowd ooohed and aaaah'd, cheering them on.
 ...yes, it was kind of surreal--at least for me.
Now I'm up late, and just saw an ad for 'Yo Mama ring-tone/jokes.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Personally, I'm a bit tired of seeing the silliest, most derogatory aspects of cultures co-oped and used for entertainment purposes. But it's late, and that's just what comes to mind at the moment. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say about this.
