Capital Punishment.

On DU, this issue comes up every now and then. There are always some who argue vehemently for the death penalty. Considering the manner in which capital punishment is sentenced out however, I was wondering what the sentiment for it HERE was. I am sure all here are well aware of the unequal nature of the death penalty. Not only are minorities more likely to receive the death penalty, but they are even MORE likely to receive the death penalty if the victim is white. Knowing this, I wonder what percentage of minorities and those who understand minority issues are so strongly pro-death penalty.

I have mixed feelings about it. Until we have a foolproof way of determining guilt the chance of innocent people being put to death is too great to wholeheartedly support it.
