2. No, it has been happening a lot...

I think part of it is because as Bush pushes people further and further away, more and more people consider themselves progressives when they are probably more like centrists.

* and his ilk are desperately trying to return our country to 'old values'--and 'old values' to me is the outright acceptance of the lie that somehow, whites are 'superior' to any other race on the planet... that somehow they are dukes and princes entitled to lord the status of their 'gentle birth' over those they perceive to be of a 'baser sort'.

I am African American and my race does not diminish my prestige. There is not a white person alive who is better than, nor is there a 'minority' who is lower than, I. IF a white person is afronted by my confidence in myself and wants to dismiss me by saying I'm uppity, too M-F'n bad. Those days are gone and will never return and it's best for everyone to live in the present and not be stuck in a wayback machine.

We ALL fall short before the grace of God.
