You may be interested to know that I emailed my displeasure to the author of the article for his unfortunate choice of words.

I told him that only a white person would consider a black person "lucky" in America. I also said,

"Whenever you're able to factually and irrefutably connect the
correlation between our president's skin color and your observations
regarding his inate talent and abilities (or lack thereof), PLEASE let
us know in a new article. We'll be awaiting your insights with baited
breath. Thanks."


And I received a response:

"Racist? Black cats are proverbially lucky. Felix the cartoon character was a black cat, not an African-American cat. And Obama is a lucky president -- so far. If you think that's racist, you are ahead of my black girlfriend. As for the word "black", it's the same one used by the Congressional Black Caucus and the Harvard Black Alumni Society, among others.
The piece made an important point about the biggest threat to Obama's presidency: the seemingly uncontrollable deficit. That’s the issue you should be focusing on, not politically correct claptrap.

The explanation is as bad, if not worse, than the actual article. He sounds like a spoiled brat.

What some people won't do to get their articles noticed.

Here's a clue, dumbass: If more people are offended by it than not, then perhaps it wasn't a good idea.

Not too bright to use charged imagery with the current climate at the town halls, professor. You should be smarter than that. Your message was lost completely in your attempts to be clever.

The "I have black friends" argument is tired, too. It doesn't magically absolve you from cultural insensitivity.

And lastly, tossing around the word "political correctness" is just an excuse bigots use when someone's called them out.

Pretty much verbatim what he sent to you. Must have heard how stupid he sounded from more than one person.

And I love how in his fervent desire to portray Obama as a "black cat" he says BS like this:
