Olive branch, my ass!!!
Edited on Thu Sep-03-09 03:03 PM by Fire1
In all of his efforts toward bi-partisanship, it makes NO difference to the bottom feeders. They continue to spin lies, distort facts and accept funds from lobbyist to disrupt town hall meetings across the nation. They bring loaded weapons to Presidential town hall meetings and NOW, school districts across this country are "boycotting" his address to students as they return to school September 8, 2009. Superintendents are folding to the pressure of the bottom feeder's threats to keep their children OUT of school on the 8th, if they show the Presidential address.

Now, don't get it twisted. I have the utmost admiration for President Obama and I know how he rolls. But, I have to wonder how far he's willing to go to appease the right. That adage about repeatedly operating in the same fashion and expecting different results is applicable in more ways than one. His repeated attempts to clarify, verify, and define with FACTS are met with willful and determined ignorance. I'm sure he realized that opening the door to transparency in government would involve subjecting himself to ridicule and criticism but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that even he is amazed at the outpouring of IN YOUR FACE outrage, racism and disrespect. All I know is he's a better "man" than I am.

1. Fire1 you just said it all. He always said he didn't want to be
in a "bubble" in the whitehouse and I trust that he's fully aware of what is happening. Some of the stuff I am hearing is truly sickening! I just posted about the school speech issue. I just left a message with my son's principal because I want to know if they are showing the speech or not. This is bullshit and it's getting on my nerves. We won the house, senate and the damn presidency. Excuse my language but fuck bipartisanship at this point. I want him to stand firm on this public option and health care reform. If these asshole fake dems want to appease the right, then their names as obstructionists should be posted everywhere. He should veto any bill that doesn't include that option and send their asses back to the table.

Racism is boiling in this country right now...that rosy picture of the crowds we saw on January 20 is being overshadowed by these ignorant ass fools at these town halls etc. I'm sick of it.

2. Amen. That's how I know he's better than I am. Cause by NOW
that's what I'd be saying. Fuck bi-partisanship.

3. What if he doesn't veto any bill without a public option?
What if he decides he's willing to sacrifice the public option in order to get a bill through the Senate?

What then?

4. Unfortunately it's these ignorant fuckwits and the corporatists that represent them
that Obama's trying to appease. This needs to stop. Every time Obama gives them anything they want they still vote against it. Why bother making these compromises for people who won't vote for it anyway, it's high time to tell the Republicans to go fuck themselves. 18,000 people a year die because they didn't have access to health care. To eviscerate a reform package in order to make nice with idiots so ignorant that they don't know that medicare is government health care is pointless.

I have high blood pressure and eventually I will have to pay COBRA rates for my health care. I can't afford to do that and without going for a degree my job prospects aren't good. For now I have insurance. There are millions who are worse off than I am. They cannot be sacrificed on the altar of bipartisanship it's already painfully obvious that bipartisanship isn't going to happen.

Don't even get me started on the racism of it all. These idiots would rather suffer then allow everyone to benefit from something. Funny how things that were once free or low cost suddenly go up in price when black and brown people start taking advantage of it.
