Shaniya Davis
I'm finding myself pretty upset by the death of this little girl, probably because I have my own little girl and know how vulnerable she is.

Her mother is accused to selling 5-year old Shaniya as a prostitute. This is beyond grotesque and inhuman. It has resulted in Shaniya's death, though how it all happened has not become public yet. I wonder myself if the mother was lost on drugs.

here is the most recent news, though I suspect there is a lot more story to be told:

1. This is such a horrible crime...
the pictures of that child being carried out of the hotel, in the arms of a grown man made me shudder. I can't even let my mind consider the last hours of this precious child's life.

2. I keep hearing about video and pictures of her being carried into a hotel
You could not pay me a million dollars to see them.

I know that being for the death penalty is considered unacceptable around here, but at times like this, I don't see how anyone couldn't want to see every person involved in this precious child's cruel death wiped off the earth. I want her mother gone, the bastard who took her to the hotel gone and the sick f*ck who "bought" her for sex knowing she was five years old GONE.

When I heard this story yesterday, I sobbed. I put my head on my desk and cried for this child. And all day yesterday, I kept looking at my baby who is 3 and wondering how in hell anyone could do something like this to a child, to ANYONE'S child, but especially their own?????

I can't even blame hormones on this one. Shaniya was such a beautiful little girl. I'm crying again just thinking about her.

3. Naw girl...it's not hormones...
This story has really sickened me. From what I understand, the child was being raised by her father, and just recently joined up with this RAT of a mother. It's just disgusting. You hear about things like this, but the visual picture of her in the arms of that freak made me lose it...completely.

My heart aches for this baby.

6. Now I read that a 15yr old was shot execution style by his father..
What the hell?

http://freep.com/article/20091118/NEWS01/91118026/1320/Dad-arraigned-in-sons-killing

Investigators say Pinkney was reacting with rage when he stripped his son naked, marched him outside the home of the boy's mother and executed him Monday afternoon.

Lazette Cherry, Jamar Jr.'s mother, said she wanted to get her 15-year-old son help when he came to her and said he had acted inappropriately with his 3-year-old half-sister.

There wasn’t a rape, Cherry said her son told her. But he confessed to his mother that he knew lying on top of the baby was wrong, she said.

So she called her son's father and told him what she believed happened in his home on Newport on Detroit’s east side.

“I called and told his father this isn’t something you sweep under the rug,” the devastated mother said today.

His father showed up at the house Monday afternoon with a gun, she said.

“He started beating him right here,” Cherry said from her living room. “I said, ‘No, please stop!’ ”

But the father marched Jamar Jr., a sophomore at Martin Luther King High School, outside.

“He got on his knees and begged, ‘No, Daddy! No!’ and he pulled the trigger,” she said. “There wasn’t nothing that my son wouldn’t do for his father. He loved his father so much."

8. You know that child had a tremendous amount of trust in his
mother to go to her and admit what he did. I can't help but think she KNEW that man's elevator skipped some floors. She could have sought counseling without even involving him in it. I'm sure that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

7. Update: the guy that took her to the hotel has been charged with rape and murder.
