I'm headed back to Detroit for the holiday. I love my husband's family, but I miss my own folks something fierce during this time of the year! It will be nice to see some friends, enjoy some good music and food, and have some wonderful 'holiday beverages'... ;)

And I agree with you, so much of the stuff today was STRAIGHT OUT of Freeperville. Like I said, this place has become embarrassing. Obama must be about to do something truly fantastic because we all know that right before his admin does something positive, the wolves come out in full force for about three days prior in order to shit on everything first.

With all of the turkeys around here, it's no surprise that so many DUers hate Thanksgiving (along with religion; black, Hispanic and Muslim people; people who eat meat; people who don't eat meat; children; and life in general).

But the hysterical outrage being expressed here, the willingness to believe anything bad about the president, the imperviousness of the whiners and poutragists to FACTS, makes me think there's something about this particular president that drives people over the age, just as it does the teabaggers.

At this point, the political discussion here is just a laughing stock. Have great holidays, both of youse.

I have to be real and say that I think that this is behind alot of the crap that this man is getting from both sides. But I also recognize and respect that there are plenty of black folks who have issues with Obama and his handling of the bailouts and unemployment.

The main difference that I have personally seen between criticism from the black side of the Dem aisle and the white side is that the black side seems to be more tempered, more reasonable. There are legitimate concerns with POLICY but black folks seem much more understanding and cognizant of the fact that he was handed what had to be the world's biggest shitpile when he took office. Even his strongest black critics seem to get that.

White folks, be they teabaggers or "liberals" seem much more interested in simply tearing him down -- truth and facts be absolutely damned. And they wonder why many blacks see very little difference between the two.
