1. Okay, I'll go first! lol (Spoilers ahead)
I almost cried when I saw the relationship she had with her father. Oh my God. I wish he could have played a larger role in the movie although there is no denying that he played a major role in Tiana's life.

To quote Karenina, "the colors! The colors!" What a BEAUTIFUL movie! Oh, it was so bright and beautiful. And it was fabulous to see the truly old school Disney animation again. The scenes with the talking voodoo masks were gorgeous.

I LOVED Ms. Charlotte! Sure she had some typical "poor little rich, blonde girl issues" but I thought she was hilarious and I loved her.

Prince Naveen was fine!

I loved that Tiana was all about hard work but I really loved that towards the end, she relaxed that and learned to let go and just DANCE.

Mama Odie was a little bit gross. I loved Raymond's tribute to Evangeline, his beloved star. The fact that jazz music was such a huge part of this movie I thought was very appropriate. On the whole, I give this movie two enthusiastic:

I was surprised at the number of people in the theater. I went to a noon show on New Year's Day and it was quite a few people there. I do plan on seeing it again. As for my little poppet, we took her to see "The Fabulous Mr. Fox" instead. As only a 3-year old can, she was so wrapped up in the minutia of the movie ("it's a fox!" "It's a helicopter!"), she completely overlooked what was actually happening onscreen. :)

3. Don't forget the prince in Beauty and the Beast!

He wasn't too bad even though I TRULY do not approve of this outfit he's wearing.

By the way, who's prince was this one??

It's a shame the movie was too intense for your little one. But at least it will be there when she's older or you can get it on DVD or something.

They have a Meet Tiana thing at Disney World now. Where's Karenina, Dammit! I want to know what she thinks of the dress!!

Oh, the dress is just lovely as far as we can see, perhaps a bit stiff...

8. Oh my goodness! I LOVE that picture!
Now I wanna go to Disneyworld! Any idea how long the Princess and Frog stuff will be there?? Knowing my luck, they'll pack it up and take it away a week before I'm able to get there. x(

Wonder who that is playing Tiana in that picture?? That doesn't look like Anika Noni (Tiana from the movie) there. A friend of ours had a daughter who worked for Disney as a dancer/singer for a while. (I think it was Disney Tokyo) She said it was the best time of her life.

I almost cried when I saw the relationship she had with her father. Oh my God. I wish he could have played a larger role in the movie although there is no denying that he played a major role in Tiana's life.

Girlfriend, I DID CRY. Lost my dad at 9. The continuity of the picture she held upon which he has written HER name had me blubbering.

I LOVED Ms. Charlotte! Sure she had some typical "poor little rich, blonde girl issues" but I thought she was hilarious and I loved her.

Lottie cracked my ass up from her first appearance! She gets my supporting actor award. When her dad shoved the pastry in her mouth, I doubled over so hard that I missed the next few minutes, a build-up of all that had gone before with her antics. THEN came her SOLIDARITY with Tiana. So many Southern Stories... ;-)

Prince Naveen was fine!

The finiest FINEY evah! NO JOKE! Look at that pitiful, stiffy lot posted upthread! Navaeen knew how to DANCE and Tiana knew how to WORK. They filled each other's deficits! SO SWEET!!!

I loved that Tiana was all about hard work but I really loved that towards the end, she relaxed that and learned to let go and just DANCE.

I LOVED that Naveen got pulled out of his disinheritance; his parents acknowledging the black princess who was able to accomplish what they could not!

Mama Odie was a little bit gross.

WHACHOO TALKIN BOUT, WILLIS??? :freak:

I loved Raymond's tribute to Evangeline, his beloved star.

I hardly got ANY of Ray's lines the first go round. The ones I DID get were farkin' HILARIOUS!!! "Wimmin like a man wid a big back porch!"

The fact that jazz music was such a huge part of this movie I thought was very appropriate.

Randy Newman ist GROßARTIG.
Truth be told, I most identified with Louis...

10. Karenina,
You're making me cry! I didn't even grow up with a dad but I had a grandfather who stood in beautifully. He passed several years ago and he is without a doubt one of the major influences in my life. I know that's why I got so emotional watching the movie so reading that you got emotional too is making me emotional again! :)

I LOVED that Charlotte took such good care of Tiana and vice versa. No "mammy" mess going on here -- it was obvious that these were two girls who loved and took care of EACH OTHER. When Charlotte found out that she was the "princess" that Naveen needed to kiss, even knowing full well that he was in love with Tiana, she must have planted about 10 kisses on him. I loved that scene.

WHACHOO TALKIN BOUT, WILLIS???

Girl, when Mama Odie was cooking that gumbo in that old, rotten bathtub, I was just like "awwww DAMN! That is NASTY!"

They filled each other's deficits! SO SWEET!!!

Too true. Which is exactly what a real relationship is supposed to be about.

I wonder if they'll do a Princess II so that Charlotte can get her man too? :) I'd love to see that.
