Harold Ford’s potential Senate bid will get a tasty photo op Friday: He’s having lunch with influential Assemblyman Keith Wright (D-Harlem) at Sylvia’s, the famed Harlem eatery.

The sitdown comes a day after Wright, chairman of Manhattan’s Democratic County Committee, summoned district leaders and other committee members to hear from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), who faces a possible Democratic primary challenge from Ford. Gov. Paterson, who gave Gillibrand the job, introduced her.

The former Tennessee congressman has been working hard behind the scenes to pick up support among Democratic leaders, the vast majority of whom are already pledged to Gillibrand. But Wright has yet to back anyone – making him one of the few county leaders whose endorsement is still up for grabs.

“We will come to a decision during our regular course of business,” Wright told the Daily News yesterday when asked about any endorsement from his committee.

Will Ford soon be granted an audience with the entire New York County committee, as Gillibrand had in the closed meeting last night? “I am not aware that he has announced that he is running,” Wright said.

First of all, I am DYING laughing at that photo and caption of the sista with the mohawk. :rofl:

Secondly, there are some great comments on this at that site. God, it is so good to read "our" perspective on things sometimes. And I am glad that there are some folks standing up for Harold as well as dissing him 'cause I am sick and tired of people thinking that all black people think the same way on the issues.

Also look at what Jack and Jill say about all of this. I am LOVING Jack and Jill and weseeyou!!
