OCEANSIDE, Calif. — A Marine captain found dead in his Fallbrook, Calif., home on Nov. 7 has been identified as Capt. Jonatan Kesler-Ramirez.
Kesler-Ramirez, a ground supply officer from Nueces, Texas, would have turned 35 on Nov. 25. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Kesler-Ramirez’s mother found him at 7:30 a.m. in his bed, fatally wounded from a gunshot to the head. He lived in the house with his wife and mother, according to authorities.
The medical examiner's office has ruled his death a suicide.
Kesler-Ramirez, who had deployed twice to Iraq, was an officer assigned to Camp Pendleton’s Security Battalion, base officials said in a release.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends,” officials said in the release.
