Malmstrom getting funds for construction

A federal appropriations bill headed to President Barack Obama includes $10.6 million for construction projects at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont.

The Senate passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill on Sunday. It includes $10.6 million to upgrade Malmstrom's weapons storage area and $7.6 million to build a new Armed Forces Reserve Center in Great Falls.

Col. Michael Fortney, commander of the 341st Missile Wing, says the construction at the weapons storage area will significantly enhance the mission of the Missile Wing and the 819th Red Horse Squadron.
