FORT RILEY, Kan. — A new child care center opens this week at Fort Riley.
It will be the sixth child care center on the post. Officials there say it’s part of an attempt to make life better for soldiers and their families.
The new center is on Custer Hill, the post’s main residential area. It will have space for 232 children from 6 weeks old to 5 years old. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, led by Maj. Gen. Vincent Brooks, Fort Riley’s commander.
The post also plans to open three additional child development centers by Oct. 1.
