Anyone here been moved to VA fee-based treatment?

The VA here has recommended that my condition be treated off-campus because they cannot provide the service that I need. The cost isn't to me, but obviously it will be expensive to them...

Are there limitations or concerns that I should consider before agreeing to this?

1. I have a friend who did several years ago.

The doctors at the VA butchered him up before finally admitting they didn't have the skill set to treat his condition. Since going to a private specialist, his condition improved dramatically.
Personally, my experience at the VA has been good, once I got past the quacks in the waiting room.
