and because it helps unite the Davidson County Democratic Party. After all, the Annual Gore Family Dinner is
for the Davidson County and Tennessee Democrats (and their friends). It is the Gore Family's way of giving back to the Democrats that have been their family and friends not to appease
outsiders who have their own agendas.
More importantly, Ford is a big proponent of alternative fuels. It was one of his big campaign issues. In fact, Harold Ford drove a biodiesel (from soybeans) truck when he campaigned.

In the ad, Ford comes out swinging against "big oil," and suggests that Tennessee soybeans - used to make biodiesel - are our "ticket to energy freedom."
Ford says that, "For too long, all the tax breaks have gone to big oil."
