3. I'm not surprised it has been slow

I'm stealing a few moments from my family (a dozen of them are in town today) to check out DU. They're all here for the kick off of football season for our alma mater. Most of our neighbors are gone. They are visiting relatives. In fact, my nephew, who is new to town (for school) remarked this morning that the town seemed dead.

I don't want to belabor a point I've made many times in the past but I think this helps support the notion that most people don't pay attention to politics until after Labor Day. This is the "last hurrah" of summer and people are out taking advantage of it.
