In an article titled, Run, Al, Run, Christopher Hitchens asserts that Al Gore will almost certainly win the Nobel Peace Prize.

And then, and only then, will the beloved statesman make up his mind about a bid for the presidency.

Hitchens says he has informed sources. I take back every mean thing I ever said about Christopher Hitchens.

Several people, some of them well-informed, have been saying to me that Gore will wait until the Nobel committee's announcement before he makes up his mind. Should he make up his mind to run, he could alter the entire equation. . . (I)f it takes a Scandinavian kick-start to alter the odds, then for once one can hope that the heirs of Alfred Nobel will have a more explosive and catalytic effect than they had intended.

I'm not a fan of Hitchens (and probably never will be) but I'm hoping he was sober enough to understand the well-informed people he spoke with.

I seldom agree with Hitchens any more, but word for word, I think he's correct in this article.

Many here say Gore would not want to take on the Clinton machine in 2008, and that is why he will not run. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Hillary and Gore have been at each other's political throats since 1992. I think he would find it totally unacceptable to be politically subservient to another Clinton presidency; after all, did the Clintons stand up for Gore during the 2000 election controversy? And, why, pray not? Could it have been because a Hillary 2008 run was already in the works, and Hillary could not have challenged an incumbent Gore during his second term? Think that might have been it?

Why didn't the Clinton's say boo during that rotten time? Bill was head of the democratic party figuratively until the installation on January 20.

7. Don't forget that McAuliffe was head of the DNC

and was put there because of his friendship with the Clintons. Now he is working for Hillary. Is there any wonder why the DNC didn't come on stronger in 2000 against the RNC? Why fight for Al when you're on the Clinton gravy train?
