Gore 2008 meetup in Lawrence, KS; 5/31/06

We are having a meetup for Al Gore 2008 at the Lawrence Public Library in the auditorium on Wednesday, May 31 at 7pm. The meeting is open to the public.

Among the issues to be discussed will be Gore’s initiative and upcoming movie on global warming (starting in KC on June 16), and how local Gore supporters can aid the Democratic party in the 2006 elections.

A growing number of people prefer Al Gore for president in 2008. Among the reasons for his popularity:

1. His visionary leadership on climate change throughout his career.

2. His early and vocal opposition to the invasion of Iraq along with his prescient discussion of the dangers to world stability.

3. His visionary leadership on the development of the Internet in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, which was a major factor in the current state of its expansion.

4. His outspoken criticism of the Bush administration regarding illegal wiretapping and a host of other issues endangering the quality and existence of our republic.
