1. What does this mean?

Probably nothing - but what a great spot to put Gore in. And, I assume, and hope, that this means Obama will really be paying attention to the global warming thing, etc. Please note that in the DU post linked above is DFW (who Andrea and I got to know a bit when we were working on the Gore thing several months back). He is not just your ordinary DU kind of person - or your ordinary Democrat. Let's just say he travels in circles I wish I could travel in, but, unfortunately, never will.

Not sure what link you are referring to - the one in my post is from hissyspit. I do like DFW and from what I remember this past year, he is a longtime friend of Dean's and has spent some time or has met Gore. And yes, I would like to travel in that circle too! Best connection I have is that the father or a friend of my son's has met Gore at the Davos Conference. Best I got. Sad ain't it?

won't be able to make it. BTW, for those still looking in on this site who are interested in the Democratic campaign in general (I know, this is the Gore site, but he's not in it anymore) I'll be heading out to Akron, OH toward the end of September and will be out there until the election (with perhaps a couple of quick trips back to Rochester, NY just so I remember what my wife looks like and see if anything needs my attention here at home). During my time out there, I'll finally pay off my debt of gratitude to Andrea and take her to dinner somewhere between Akron and Columbus. I could also, perhaps, make arrangements to meet you at one of the Thruway Service Areas near Buffalo on my way through if that was of any interest. I think it will be fun to put a face/person with the name on all the internet correspondence that's been flying back and forth over the past several months. Wish I had the chance to meet more of you.
