Why is this the only group with an "08" on it?

No other support folder has that on it. Even Barack Obama's group doesn't have an "08" attached to it. There is so much more to this man than that. Maybe that is why more people go into other folders. Those of us who support Mr. Gore but do not obsess over one election 24/7 (and yes, we do exist) are made to feel unwelcome if we don't cheerlead and tie everything to a political end. I personally am offended to think that unless I come in here prepared to shout run Al Run that I will be castigated for my support of him. I support the man and his endeavors wholeheartedly, but I will not discuss him in any group that deems to tell me what to think or else.

This group would discuss current events of Al and Tipper Gore and Family, as well as the effort to encourage Al Gore to run for President in 2008, indTV, Generation Fund, Apple, Google, The Environment/Earth in the Balance/The Day After Tomorrow, Family/Joined at the Heart, Al Gore's Tennessee Congressional House and Senate Career, His Vice Presidency, His participation in the 2004 election and his continuing pioneering contributions to the public dialog.

So yes, perhaps I will try to form my own group that supports this man and his endeavors based on their merits, and not some political angle. And thanks for the warm welcome. It is obvious in this folder that unless you tie everything this man does and in essence demean it just to satisy your own desires over reality that you are not welcome here. You don't want discussion here to really support the man, all you want is gushing. And no, no one is forcing me to be here, and you can be sure I won't be back in here again. Don't then wonder why this folder is dead.

3. If you'd take the time to read the mission statement,

you'd see that it's more than just getting him to run. The '08 is just part of the name -- don't get so wrapped up in semantics.
