NORTH ADAMS — Anyone who lives in Massachusetts knows the tale of the Salem Witch Trials, but this fall they can get two takes on Arthur Miller's classic play, "The Crucible."
Both the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Drury High School will present the award-winning drama, with MCLA's cast taking center stage Oct. 18-21 at Venable Theatre, then Drury will offer its take Nov. 16-18 in its auditorium.

"I love the play. I felt it was the right time to revive it and be revived by it," said Bishoff, professor of fine and performing arts at MCLA , in a telephone interview Friday night. "It can help anyone see the consequences of our actions in the world right now. It's an old play with themes relative to today — paranoia, unfair accusations, jail without trial, and the separation of church and state."
During a rehearsal in Drury's auditorium Friday afternoon, Radin echoed those sentiments, but he drew more of an parallel between the teenagers in the play and those acting in it.
