Anybody remember the Raving Atheist? The abortion-fixated flamewar magnet? http://ravingatheist.com/2008/12/christ-is-the-lordHe'll fit right in with his new friends, given his manufactured martyrdom and talent for deliberately misconstruing a point (ie, lying) to gin up controversy.

3. That he's a Christian? |
|
Heck if I know. He's a nutter, I believe that. A Horowitz-style flip wouldn't be beyond the pale.

I wasn't familiar with his past antics, and that picture he chose really looked like a joke to me. The whole thing could be a farce.

He's been a nutcase for a long time. I'm not surprised by his sudden conversion.

Make way for the Christian Right's newest mini-celebrity. His ticket is punched if he wants to make money from his Jeebus story, they can't get enough of that shit: http://ravingatheist.com/2008/12/a-few-thoughts-and-explanations

a while back and to tell you the truth, I thought of it as pure propaganda for he didn't provide anything close to a scientific argument against christianity to show his point (I guess he was not totally convinced of his argument). That christianity is based on copycats it is in no way a convincing argument for a fanatic to leave their faith (if he wanted to drive people away from the church). Also, interviewing his prior catholic school principal didn't proved anything but that the principal was batshit crazy. There are charlatans in both sides of the argument and ultimately, the most vociferous side won here.
He only proved he is no Dawkins/Hitchens/Harris.

9. That wasn't The Raving Atheist's movie |
|
That was Brian Flemming's movie -- The God Who Wasn't There. TRA had some role in it, but I can't remember exactly what.
I didn't care for TGWWT either. It was based largely on pseudo-history and frankly I found the scene where he confronted his former principal embarrassing. The final scene with him denying god in the school chapel was also cringe inducing. I don't think Brian Flemming is a charlatan, I just think he's a little credulous when it comes to anti-Christian sources. Dorothy Murdock (Acharya S) on the other hand, who also promotes the same sort of pseudo-history, is far from genuine. I could be wrong of course.

10. I agree, "The God Who Wasn't There" was an incredibly disappointing movie. |
|
Very weak and poorly put together.

5. I don't know this guy. |

But I suspect he's behaving like this for the attention/controversy not because he genuinely believes this shit. In other words, his "god" is attention.
