| 1. That just about nails it, but you're missing the arrogance. |
|
Of course, not being an artist I couldn't begin to tell you how to convey that in a drawing, but the jaw-dropping arrogance of someone claiming that we must scientifically prove a negative is missing here.

| 7. The rage at being contradicted is captured very nicely |
|
Belief requires consensus. Anyone outside that consensus is seen as a threat.

| 8. Oh it captures the ever-present rage at the non-believer quite well. |
|
But it's missing the arrogance so often seen by certain theologians who shall remain nameless.

| 10. Rule # 1: Never argue with a crazy person |
|
That life rule, above all the others, will save you from frustration, abuse, degradation, and wasted time.

|
I don't know that a graceful exit is possible at this point, but I'm trying.

I didn't realize until reading your comment that the copyright info isn't part of the image. I saw it a few weeks ago, but don't recall where.

And since their nebulous brand of woo allows them to squirm around to different definitions and use the word "quantum" every chance they get, they are more likely than fundies to believe whole-heartedly that they can't be wrong.

| 5. I tend to consider all supernatural beliefs variations of the same mental handicap. |
|
What good is technically being an atheist if you believe in faeries or gnomes or the power of pyramids?
I tend to favor the term "skeptic" instead, because it encompasses doubting gods AND all other fairy-tale-ish crap. If you think about it, it's a stronger term than atheist.

saying you are an atheist only speaks of yourself. Saying you are a skeptic means you would look skeptically at someone else's beliefs.

| 12. The term that's growing on me is "pearlist." |
|
Pearlism, from pearl, which stands for Physical Evidence And Reasoned Logic.
Thanks to Thunderf00t for coining it.
