Because it's BBC, they don't kowtow to Rick Fucking Warren, and they show that shyster's complicity in whipping up the Ugandan death legislation. Followed by his subsequent attempts to backtrack and flush all that down the Memory Hole.

Warren was accompanied by an even more hateful Xian dweeb, Scott Lively. But even Lively is now trying to back away from what he helped to create.

In a damned unfunny show, there are some funny bits with a Ugandan minister screeching that gays want to "eat our children's poo-poo." In his church services, he holds up hard-core porn pics as helpful illustrations. (He downloaded all the pics from the internet.)

Oh, and in a cozy display of interfaith co-operation during these times of fear and mistrust between the religions - a local Muslim imam joins right in with the hate-fest.

Despite the heartfelt pleas to Gawd and Allah, the Ugandan gay community continues to exist. Though its members, many of them interviewed in the docu, literally fear for their lives. A local newspaper helpfully prints their pictures, names and addresses.

The documentary ran earlier this year, back around May-June. And was available for a long time free on the BBC website, but no longer, unfortunately. I caught it on the BBC On Demand channel of Time-Warner. I'm sure its hanging around the IntertubeZ somewhere.
