This is the most diverse group of WOO-WOO folks I have seen in one place! I think they cover a good portion of the WOO-WOO crowd...From Christians to Hindus to New Spiritual Crap & others all arguing over whether reincarnation is real! Good Stuff if you like watching just how delusional your fellow humans can be! Part One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOV74ESyVQwPart Two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2QECVzt5rg

for a believer to assert they "have the right" to believe as they wish, did it?
Almost inevitably, someone will try to reframe dissent as a challenge to their rights. And everyone will nod in assent instead of telling him to stow it, because hey, rights are good.

because there are few people who remember past lives as laundresses or hod carriers.
If there is reincarnation of whatever consciousness is, it's certainly not carried forward with personality, memories and skills intact. All those things are functions of and stored in the brain, separate from whatever consciousness is or dying with it.
All we know for certain is that it's a one way trip. No one has ever really come back.

were plantation bosses, sex slavers, Nazi guards, serial killers, and the like. Nor was anyone ever a sea slug.
Michael Crichton, who was open to the possibility some woo could be genuine, once had a past life regression. He had a vivid experience as a gladiator awaiting his moment in the ring. For a few minutes, he was entirely other; dull, brutish, unthinking, with no concern for his impending death or how many he had to kill to stay alive.
It really excited his guide, but Crichton wasn't buying it. He had to remind the guide -- I get paid to come up with this stuff, this is how I make my living.
