LoL - "So long and thanks of all the Fish" RE: current events

Just re-reading this book and came across this passage:

"One of them at last found a pet shop with some lizards, but it instantly defended the pet shop for democracy so savagely that little in the area survived."

"one of them" is talking about scout robots from a planet that "democratically" continues to elect lizards as they leaders.

Just struck me to unexpectedly come across a passage in a book by Douglas Adams written 20 years ago that could be used so aptly today.

although i consider most of the HG2G series to be one big book, since they all end pretty abruptly
