1. Don't want to spoil anything, but what a way to end the episode!
Whenever you guys in the West Coast see it, please post what you thought.

7. It will be a LONG week until next Friday at 10pm
I did not expect that at the end.

Now I have to rewatch because I was so beat from work this week that I dozed off in the middle.

2. Best. Show. Ever. Wow.
This series never ceases to amaze me. It's incredible. It's deep, it's real, it's poignant and topical, it's got so many levels. The writing is amazing, so many things happen that are unexpected and yet so believable and real. I've never seen a show that so consistently threw curves at me I wasn't expecting, but then you think about it and you're like "of course, it has to be like that". I think the reason why it can surprise you like that is that we're so conditioned to expect formulaic stuff from the TV that when writing comes along that's REAL and the characters are realistically complex and reacting the way the SHOULD in certain situations, it's surprising.

4. Oh man, I want the next episode NOW!
Absolutely incredible. Magnificent writing.

Only non-spoiler type comment: Figures it'd look like a cathedral.

6. There is something cruel about this show isn't there
it's nearly painful for each episode to end and knowing you have to wait a full week to see the next!

;)

8. The ending always comes too soon for me.
It never feels like a full hour. And it always feels like there's only, like, 30 seconds of show between each commercial break.

Want... MORE!

5. It lives with gusto!
There is clearly no "sophmore" slumping or slacking for this second season...at least not if this first episode is any indication.

Without saying anything specific in fear of spoiling something...besides the power of the story there is that one little fact of Pegaus' history after the Cylon attack and before meeting Galactica that I think opens up a lot of possibilities for future settings of episodes.

9. I can't believe they killed off Adama!
Gotcha!

It was a most excellent show.

I think I'll watch it again tonight to get what I missed when I was saying "Oh my god!"

For me it's been the best science fiction show on television, ever. (And I started back in the 60s with Star Trek.)

13. sooner or later...
sooner or later, they'll figure out that cylons have red glowing backs when they're in the throes of passion...

if the female cylons look like Boomer, #6 and Lucy Lawless - sign me up to test a few others.

15. In all the wild sex he had with the original #6...
Baltar never once tried it doggy style? Heck, he never even saw a reflection in a window or mirror?

17. I finally caught up
Between the DVDs and my DVR, I just caught up with this series.

Wow.

I have to say, from a veteran's standpoint, the most real person on the Galactica is Callie. I knew so many women like her in the military. Oh, and Dee and the Chief are very real, too. Remarkable.

I wonder why nobody thought to get closeups during the attacks on the Resurrection Ship? They could have identified all 12 models right there.

Oh, that's why. Need to have us some plot.

The Pegasus was a perfect example of how things like Abu Ghraib happen. You don't think the enemy is human (okay, in this case they're right, sort of), you have leadership that is ruthless and isolated from the stabilising influence of others in the military community, and things can go haywire.

I can't wait to see what Adama does with the crew over there once he gets a chance to read Cain's log books.

18. I had the same thought about the closeups
But perhaps the need to act quickly helps add to the "suspension of disbelief" for that one point that they need to preserve for plot reasons as you point out.

Of course perhaps in the next or follow episode we'll see that someone was able to pull out more detailed data from the survey package from Starbuck's mission.

19. Or perhaps they can't...anymore.
Could have an episode where they try to root out a mole in their intelligence operations unit who destroyed the above images?
