Poor Bryan Singer cant win for losing

He's praised for bringing X-Men and X2 but then he went on to a project he'd dreamed of. The fans went nuts when he 'abandoned' X3. The dust cleared and everyone got excited about Superman Returns, now some of the fans are having a cow over how Superman was made.

I'd feel sorry for him if he didnt have more money than all of us put together.

1. I admired Singer's work since "The Usual Suspects"

and X-Men and X2 were fun to watch. I saw Superman Returns and I liked it. The film was faithful to the character and it was fun to watch, with lots of deja vu moments about Chris Reeve. The only weak thing about the movie was the casting for Lex Luthor. Gene Hackman made that role!

2. Gene Hackman is great, but...

Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor was "Gene Hackman, who by the way will be performing the role of Lex Luthor tonight."

I haven't seen Superman Returns yet, but IMO Hackman never really vanished into the role of Luthor. As great as he was, he was great largely because he's so much fun to watch on-screen.

3. You know who nearly stole the movie?

Parker Posey.

Really. Go back and watch it again if you don't believe me. That one scene when she stomps across the floor...one of those perfect little pieces of a movie.
