The sequel to 40 Signs of Rain and 50 Degrees Below.
Some very intriguing thoughts on Global CLimate change.

| 1. I'm not quite finished with 50 degrees below. |
|
Now I'll have to wait another year for them to release "60" in paperback.

I love Robinson's work, especially The Years of Rice and Salt.
This trilogy has been excellent so far.I want to sit on the edge of my treehouse and yell "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" with the gibbons too!
Thanks very much for the update.I'm library bound tomorrow!

| 3. I just finished reading it, now my question is this: |
|
Is Robinson a wild optimist about new technologies or are all our current officials that stupid and that bound to existing interests (Big Oil, World Bank, etc.)

| 4. I haven't read these books but |
|
from what KSR stories and novels I have read he seems like most other science fiction writers to be pretty optimistic about what technology might accomplish if we give it the right resources for research and development and managed to find the maturity to use it correctly.

| 8. I think he's very optimistic about people in general, not just science and technology. |
|
His books all have a real humanist streak through them (with a dash of Buddhism tossed in).I think he's just an optimistic person.
And I hate that!!! :D
Can't wait to read this one.The library has it reserved but I'm fourth in line and still waiting.

I have a couple of con-friends who want to look over a book I'm working on. Nothing even close to marketing to publishers yet, but next year....
