Poll question: Whats your favorite multi-Doctor story? |
|
Inspired by HypnoToad and his news of the upcoming special.... Am I missing any?
I remember seeing the 5 Doctors when it first came out. It was the first time I ever found out there were actors other than Tom Baker on the series. PBS in Chicago had only played the Tom Baker episodes up till then.
But my fave has to be the 2 Doctors, mostly because I really liked Patrick Troughton, and that story really gave him some fun stuff to work with.

1. There is 'Dimensions in Time', the 1993 Children in Need special... |
|
But that one is best forgotten anyway...
"Five Doctors" is my fave despite the quantity of gaping plot holes... but can be forgiven because it's meant to be a celebration AND because the feel is atmospheric (mind you, the special edition DVD isn't anywhere as good as the original release)...
"Two Doctors" would have fared better with a better director and giving Docs 2 and 6 more time together to bicker at one another...

2. I loved "The Two Doctors" |
|
I especially loved the scene at the end where Chessene licks the Doctor's blood off the stoop and the camera focuses on Dastari in the background watching her do it, realizing that all of his augmentations did nothing to alter her true Androgum nature. Plus the background music was splendid, and Robert Holmes did the best job of subverting Chekhov's "gun on the wall" dictum I've ever seen, by establishing Oscar's moth jar in the middle of part 1 (immediately followed by the Sontaran ship crashing and driving all thought of anything else out of viewers' minds), leaving the jar for the Doctor to stumble over 90 minutes later.
Great, great episode.

3. "Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death" |
|
Comic Relief project with Rowan Atkinson and Julia Sawalha facing off against Jonathan Pryce, plus many guest stars. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0212887/ I bribed the architect first!
